From 28th June – 1st July, the global fashion spotlight is firmly fixed on Berlin…It’s a great platform for both major brands, designers and creatives, as well as young and aspiring designers, to showcase their innovation and ability, to the city’s fashion elite – it’s safe to say it’s one of the most glamorous occasions in Berlin.
If you’ve got an interest in fashion, or an eye for the chic and spectacular then this may be the perfect time for you to visit this fantastic city. A trip on stylish foundations, requires a hotel with stylish blueprints…Luckily for you, we have 2 hotels within the centre of Germany’s capital; one based in Köpenick and one at Potsdam. Discover pentahotels and you’ll be anything but bored!
Throughout the 3-day event, many differing styles are focused on through the diverse and wide ranging trade fairs. For example the ‘Bright’ fair centres on street style, whilst ‘Premium,’ is a platform for advanced contemporary fashion. Another important field of focus when it comes to Berlin Fashion Week is the ‘green’ element…where attention turns to ecological and sustainable avenues of fashion…a topic that is becoming more and more relevant.
It’s an event that is still in its infancy, having only been established in 2007 – however it was quick to gain global recognition as a brilliant opportunity for Berlin’s finest young designers to pitch to the world, their latest innovations.
Young designers can enter the competition, Designer for Tomorrow, which has a judging panel including fashion starlets such as Marc Jacobs, and offers the winner an immense opportunity to present their own collections at the next Winter series of shows…
As we said earlier, it’s an event that will attract many of the world’s leading names in fashion, whether they be models, designers, social media stars or influencers of a celebrity stature…for those 3 days, Berlin is the place to be!
As with most fashion weeks, there are many post show events and parties that always prove fantastic fun, plus provide the opportunity for spectators to understand more about the inspirations and notions behind certain collections…however some of the parties are exclusive, and others don’t go on too long, so if you have a craving to keep the party going, the pentalounge is open 24/7…it’s safe to say we offer the perfect balance of rest and play.
