This week we want to focus on London, home of the Queen, Harrods, Saville Row and a bespoke lifestyle that continuously throws new opportunities at its inhabitants and visitors. There’s no doubt that the London buzz is an infectious one.
There’s no such thing as an typical day in London, however we thought if you were planning a trip to the big smoke to kick start your summer, we’d give you a couple of key dates to aim for that would ensure your trip was extra special…
And don’t you worry, with our #pentahotel in Reading, we’ve got accommodation sorted, and it’s just a stone’s throw away from the vibrant city life.
London Collection Mens SS17 10th – 13th June
LCM, founded by GQ’s Editor in Chief, Dylan Jones, is a fantastic semi-annual fashion event that offers the biggest brands and designers in men’s fashion the chance to showcase their latest collections (SS & AW) and concepts to a finely selected audience of major fashion influencers…Think David Gandy, Tinie Tempah, Jim Chapman etc etc…
It’s an amazing time for fashion lovers to be within the city, with oodles of shows, events and parties within close proximity. If you make the trip, Scarfes Bar is a really cool hangout spot. Located right at the heart of the LCM goings on, it’s a brilliant location for a few cocktails and some celeb spotting…but don’t take our word for it, get some of the action for yourself!
Wimbledon: 27th June – 10th July
What could be more quintessentially British than tennis at SW19? Persil-Advert like sport’s gear, Pimmes on tap (not literally), celebrities galore, and an enthralling array of top class tennis…sounds like a perfect summers day out.
Of course, you can’t guarantee that the British summertime will deliver perfect weather but the risk factor adds to the fun…and if the worst comes to the worst, Centre Court has a roof and there are plenty of stylish bars to indulge in a glass of Lanson and a tub of strawberries and cream.
There’s quite simply no other tennis tournament like it…
Fold Festival, Fulham 24th-26th June
‘Fold festival,’ or Freak Out Let’s Dance, is brought to London by the king of disco, Nile Rodgers, and Chic…Need we say more.
Well for the purpose of the blog we will…this is a fusion of popstars from a number of eras! It features Labrinth, Alison Moyet, John Newman and Angie Stone (plus many more) performing both individual sets and collaborating in a ‘Freak Out,’ with the headliners.
This 3 day festival is going to be so cool…
London is a city that can leave you exhausted, so make the most of the Reading Pentalounge, where you can chill out, catch your breath and plan your next day out in the capital.
